There are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary and those who don't.

With the beginning of autumn, the Waalwijk, Tilburg and WS'78 winter walks start. Also, Dutch Centurion legend Ad Leermakers walks from Colmar to Tilburg with some friends.

During a walk in the village of Wanroy, a curious spectator blocked the path. These animals are employed to eat the gras which would otherwise overgrow the native plants.

In National Park de Loonse en Drunense Duinen (sanddunes of Loon op Zand and Drunen), this World War II memorial is situated, near the Waalwijk-Tilburg highway. Walks from Tilburg, Waalwijk, Loon op Zand and Drunen frequently pass this site.

WS'78 is an organization dedicated to hosting ten 40 km winter walks every year in different locations throughout the Netherlands.

During the walk in Brummen, walkers crossed the river IJssel twice by ferry. A committee member of WS'78 in red jacket, checking the walk, has already boarded the ferry.

The forest and swamp of the Pannenhoef area was the arena for the next WS'78 walk, starting and finishing in Breda-Prinsenbeek.

Walking club Hart van Brabant operates around Tilburg and Loon op Zand. It's members include Thijn Damen, Wil Vervoort, Carl Durand, Mari Broere and of course Ad Leermakers, all Centurions. They organize 5 winter walks around Tilburg from November to March.

In October Hart van Brabant members, together with some RWV and LAT members, walked from Colmar (France) to Tilburg. Previously they also did Paris to Tilburg, which makes Ad Leermakers the only person who has done the entire triangle (Paris-Colmar-Tilburg). Their 7 days walk (70 km per day) was interrupted twice by bad news (the sad death of a close relative of a walker), but most of the 14 walkers managed to do the entire 450 km stretch.

Their first 40 km winter walk visited the village of Hilvarenbeek and the surrounding forests. This picture was taken on Gorp en Rovert, an estate near the Belgian border.

On Saturday July 30th and Sunday July 31rst 2005, the next Centurion 100 miles race will be held in King's Lynn, north of Cambridge. It is close enough to Harwich to travel by car and High Speed Ship Discovery and close enough to the London airports (Stansted).

The maps clearly show it's location with respect to previous venues in Newmarket, London and Colchester. King's Lynn is located along a direct railway line from London (London Victoria Station to Cambridge and King's Lynn).
